Lukashenko heads to Kyrgyzstan for SCO summit on 25th anniversary of organization

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Kyrgyzstan on a working visit. On September 1, in Bishkek, he will take part in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the organization's founding. During his speech at the Council of Heads of State meeting, Lukashenko will outline Minsk's position on key SCO priorities, present proposals for its further development and strengthening of its international standing. A broad package of documents is expected to be adopted, with the main one being the 25th anniversary SCO declaration. Issues in the fields of security, energy, transport, scientific and technical cooperation, and digitalization will also be discussed. On August 31, Lukashenko will attend the opening ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games. The working visit includes a number of bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the summit.
