Lukashenko heads to Kyrgyzstan for SCO summit

Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Bishkek on September 1 to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, marking the 25th anniversary of the organization's founding. In his speech at the Council of Heads of State meeting, Lukashenko will outline Minsk's position on key SCO priorities, present proposals for its further development and enhanced international standing. A wide range of documents is expected to be adopted, with the main one being the SCO 25th Anniversary Declaration. Issues in the fields of security, energy, transport, scientific and technical cooperation, and digitalization are also scheduled for discussion. On August 31, Lukashenko will attend the opening ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games. The working visit includes a series of bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts on the sidelines of the summit.
