Lukashenko signs laws on aquaculture, land reclamation, and animal traceability
On October 22, Alexander Lukashenko signed several laws.
The Law 'On Aquaculture (Fish Farming)' was adopted to establish a regulatory legal framework governing relations in this area and the operation of existing and newly created fish farming facilities.
In particular, the law introduces new legal terminology previously absent in national legislation: 'aquaculture', 'aquaculture objects', 'pasture aquaculture', 'cages', 'closed water supply systems', and others.
Among the main goals and tasks of the law are the establishment of legal, economic, and organizational foundations for this sector, defining rights and obligations of fish farming organizations, protection of rights and legitimate interests of legal entities operating in this field, and creating favorable conditions for the development of new productions and aquaculture facilities. This, in turn, should help saturate the domestic market with high-quality domestically produced fish products.
The head of state also signed laws 'On Amending Laws on Land Reclamation Issues' and 'On Identification, Registration, and Traceability of Agricultural Animals (Herd), and Identification and Traceability of Animal-Origin Products'. These documents provide for improving legislation based on its practical application and bringing it into compliance with current regulatory legal acts.
