Lukashenko to hold talks with President of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing
President Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Min Aung Hlaing arrives in Belarus on an official visit on August 20.
The main negotiation agenda at the level of heads of state is scheduled for Friday, August 21. The presidents will discuss the state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, the key areas of which are defined in the roadmap for 2026–2028. Priority will be given to cooperation in industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, science, and education. The heads of state will consider concrete steps for the prompt practical implementation of previously agreed plans, as well as new mutually beneficial projects. Attention will also be paid to cooperation between Minsk and Naypyidaw on international platforms.
Following the talks, the signing of documents aimed at strengthening Belarusian-Myanmar relations in trade, economic, scientific, technical, legal, and other areas is planned.
The upcoming official visit by Min Aung Hlaing confirms Belarus's active efforts to develop relations not only with Myanmar but also with countries in the Southeast Asian region as a whole.
