Lukashenko:

"They (organizers of mass unrest) spread the fake that I had fled, that I was already in Rostov, that my children had flown away — like Yanukovych. I grabbed a rifle, put on a bulletproof vest, even forgot to put on a helmet. I didn’t know this would happen. No one was trembling. I knew how our guys (law enforcement) would act. They carried out everything I told them. But I had to show them that I hadn’t run away — I was here. And my children were here too. I got into a helicopter and landed there just minutes later. The rifle was with me."
