Macron urges Kyiv to first absorb already allocated funds before requesting new financing

French President Emmanuel Macron called on Kyiv to first absorb already allocated funds before requesting new financing. This was his response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's appeal for additional support of €70 billion for 2027. Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU intends to transfer another €17 billion to Ukraine by the end of the current year for weapons purchases, under the existing €90 billion program.
