Minsk woman took over $15,000 to scammers, claiming she was going to the store

A woman from Minsk told her husband she was going to the store, but instead handed over more than $15,000 to scammers. She was called by people pretending to be from "Belenergo," and then fake employees of "BelGIE" and the KGB joined the conversation. They frightened her with a search and criminal liability, convincing her to hand over her savings to a "National Bank courier." Her husband became suspicious and reported it to the police. The intermediaries were found, and the money was recovered — the cash will be returned to the owners.
