Mogilev Region Development Discussed in Presidential Meeting

This morning, Mogilev Region Governor Anatoly Isachenko reported to the President on regional development issues. The head of state was briefed on industrial performance and the situation at major revenue-generating enterprises. Regional development, agricultural indicators, and some personnel matters were also discussed.

President Lukashenko paid special attention to the development prospects of OAO 'Mogilevkhimvolokno' and related projects, instructing regional and government officials to thoroughly work through the issues. The topic will be addressed during the President’s upcoming working visit to Mogilev.

Lukashenko also closely examined the current situation and future of OAO 'Belshina'. According to Isachenko, the enterprise is operating stably overall but faces certain sales challenges. Efforts are underway to improve product quality and reduce production costs.

The regional executive committee chairman provided a detailed report on Shklov District as a model for other regions. A project to restore the agricultural service center and the district’s mineral fertilizer storage facility is nearly complete. A national meeting with the President’s participation is planned in Shklov this autumn. Isachenko assured that Shklov has all necessary conditions to serve as a benchmark.

The report also covered the state of agriculture in Mogilev Region, with particular focus on fodder procurement, crop yield prospects, and the work of mechanized teams.

The President was informed that the first mowing for fodder is underway across the region, with the second mowing to follow promptly. The mechanized teams, established by presidential order, are proving effective, according to Isachenko.

Efforts are also ongoing across the region to restore agricultural chemistry organizations, with specialized teams for fertilizer and crop protection application being formed on their basis—measures yielding positive results.

Prospects for Dribin District were also discussed. The President will visit the area soon, review proposals, and make a decision on the district’s consolidation.
