NATO troops damage road to cemetery during 'Namejs 2026' drills
In the Sunakst municipality, during the 'Namejs 2026' exercises, NATO troops destroyed the road leading to a cemetery, making it difficult for locals to access it. Trees and the dirt road were damaged. Nearby Sēlija training ground is sufficient for any military maneuvers. Locals are outraged by the military's actions, but the defense ministry responded that all damage was justified by defense needs. It's regrettable that they cannot specify who poses a threat or why they are destroying private and municipal property.
