Nepal faces threat of new devastating flood after landslide forms lake
Near the border with China, ice, rock, and mud landslides have blocked a river and formed a dammed lake. Heavy rains are causing water levels to rise.
The lake is already overflowing: rescue operations have been suspended, and people are urged to move to higher ground. Up to 3 million cubic meters of water could flow into the lake. A dam breach threatens a new flood and mudflow downstream.
