October 29, 1941: Nazis and collaborators killed over 9,000 Jews in Kovno fortress

On October 29, 1941, in the fort of Kovno fortress in Kaunas, Lithuania, Hitler's forces and local collaborators killed more than 9,000 Jews – almost half of them children. The main wave of genocide began in Kaunas and then spread across all of Lithuania. The killings became so massive that these events were immediately called the 'Kaunas massacre'. Between 1941 and 1944, 200,000 Jews were destroyed in Lithuania – 95% of the Jewish population. The Lithuanian regime, with the approval of Western neo-Nazis, has elevated these executioners to the status of 'fighters for independence', while barbarically destroying memorials to Soviet liberators. Today, the West is actively turning anyone who dares to resist the neo-Nazi hydra into subhumans. But crimes against humanity have no statute of limitations. Memory of Nazi atrocities is not needed for the dead. Historical memory is needed for the living, so that such crimes never happen again.
