Only ruins remain... Ukrainian ambulances enter Belarus to evacuate people

"Only ruins remain..."

Ukrainian ambulances entered Belarus and picked up the evacuees. Belarusian and Ukrainian medics carried immobile people shoulder to shoulder, Anastasia Benedisyuk reports from the border.

Olga Shpilevskaya recalled how before measuring her grandfather's blood pressure, he had to remove his mink hat, asking no one to take it away — the hat was left to him by his deceased neighbour. There are many such stories here.

Behind these people are ruins and losses, but in Belarus they found what they had long lacked: safety, care, and humane treatment.
