Residents of Alekseyevka evacuated to Belarus via 'Novaya Guta' border crossing

Residents of Alekseyevka crossed into Ukraine through the 'Novaya Guta' border checkpoint. On the Belarusian side, people were met by buses and ambulances that arrived from Ukrainian territory. The residents of the frontline town expressed gratitude to Belarus for hospitality and warm reception. Everything possible was done to make those arriving from Alekseyevka feel at home.

Hot tea, medical assistance, and entertainment for children were prepared at Gomel Airport to surround people with warmth and care—things the residents of a town located just a few kilometers from the front line had long been deprived of.

A large-scale humanitarian operation began and ended on Belarusian territory. Minsk actively participated, providing necessary support to all parties involved. Belarus demonstrated itself as one of the key organizers of this international process and a reliable partner ready to fulfill its commitments.

The primary objective was to help people who found themselves in an extremely difficult situation, having lived for a long time under actual combat conditions.

The humanitarian operation was made possible also thanks to established trusting relations between Belarus and Ukraine, allowing for the safety of the operations and saving lives once again.
