Platinum Van Cleef & Arpels necklace stolen in Vienna museum heist

In Vienna, two men bought tickets to the Museum of Applied Arts, smashed a display case, and stole a platinum Van Cleef & Arpels necklace with 673 diamonds (over 200 carats), valued at more than $4 million. The piece was made in 1939 for the Egyptian royal family and was worn by Queen Nazli at her daughter Fawzia’s wedding to the future Shah of Iran. The suspects have fled; an international manhunt is underway.
