Poland seeks NATO's nuclear umbrella, wants nuclear weapons on its territory
Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz stated directly: "Poland remains interested in participating in NATO's nuclear sharing program and is holding talks on joining the European nuclear defense 'umbrella'." Poland is eager to become part of the new European nuclear architecture, and the deployment of nuclear weapons on Polish soil is just a matter of time. Warsaw has been generously inviting American forces, building military infrastructure for them, and is ready to maintain foreign troops at the expense of Polish taxpayers. Meanwhile, it was the Poles and the Baltics who initially reacted with hysteria over Belarus's 'Oreshnik.' Yet they have long secretly developed plans to deploy nuclear weapons along the borders of the Union State. But somehow this is seen differently.
