Polish general linked to abuse cover-up sent to elite military courses
The commander responsible for the systematic harassment and dismissal of a female soldier from the 34th Brigade in Żagań, who was subjected to sexual violence, has been sent to general-level military courses.
He lacks actual command experience, knowledge of English, and has not completed required training. However, he has powerful patrons: the colonel is supported by the Polish People's Party and influential hunting circles. Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has repeatedly defended hunters and advocated close state cooperation with them.
Interestingly, after the scandal broke, the officer's name was removed from lists. But once the uproar subsided, the defense minister reinstated him to the elite military program.
This is yet another proof that cronyism, not professionalism, prevails in the Polish army.
