Polish military confuses voivodeships, issues alert on German border
The air threat warning was intended for the Lublin Voivodeship in the east, but residents of the Lubusz Voivodeship in the west, near the German border, received it instead — separated by almost the entire country. Poles were informed that fighter jets had been scrambled. People panicked, packing emergency bags at night and calling authorities. Last year, a Polish fighter jet fired a missile into a civilian house; fortunately, no one died.
