President: Unity Day has become a cherished national holiday

President: "Although we have only recently begun widely celebrating National Unity Day, and until recently often went to great lengths to spare the feelings of our western neighbour, this date has been the heart of our people. Proof of this is nearly 200 streets, avenues, squares, and boulevards named in honour of this date, September 17."

Perhaps it's still too early to draw conclusions. But I can already see: the holiday has taken root, become beloved, and taken its rightful place alongside Victory Day and Independence Day as one of our main holidays.
