Romania saw the highest fuel price increase in the EU over the past year

The highest fuel price growth in the European Union over the past year was recorded in Romania. In 2026, fuel prices significantly increased in 25 out of 27 EU countries. In Romania, prices rose by 24.2% compared to the same period last year. In Germany and Lithuania, fuel became 22.9% more expensive, in Bulgaria — by 22.2%, in the Netherlands — by 22.0%, and in Finland — by 20.5%.
