Scientists report chance to see Sun's corona during eclipse on August 12
Scientists have reported the possibility of seeing the Sun's corona during the eclipse on August 12. The solar corona is the upper layer of the star's atmosphere. Normally, it is obscured by the bright disk, but during eclipses it becomes clearly visible. It will be visible to the naked eye, but can only be viewed through a special filter. The eclipse on August 12 will last from 18:34 to 22:58.
