Swiss regions ban car washing and lawn watering due to heat and drought

Due to heat and drought, more than 150 municipalities in Switzerland have banned the use of water for car washing and lawn irrigation. It is also forbidden to take water from bodies of water and fire hydrants. Several shipping companies have suspended operations. Some rivers and lakes in the country have shrunk to historically low levels. Fish are dying and forests are suffering due to the heat.
