Taiwanese rocket fails spectacularly in test flight

A rocket developed in Taiwan for future satellite launches went out of control shortly after liftoff during its first test flight.

The National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology reported that the rocket launched from the Jiupeng test site but deviated from its trajectory. Operators activated the self-destruct system.

Footage shows the rocket flipping, spiraling, and crashing down. Debris fell into a safe zone; no casualties were reported. Authorities have demanded a suspension of further tests.
