Typhoon 'Dolphin' triggers floods in eastern China with record rainfall
Typhoon 'Dolphin' has brought heavy rains to eastern China, causing widespread flooding. Authorities in Yueqing city, Zhejiang Province, are searching for people trapped in flooded homes. Over 1 million people have been evacuated across the region, including residents of Shanghai. The city received up to 400 mm of rainfall in 24 hours — a record for over 150 years. More than 1,300 flights have been canceled and public transport partially suspended due to the severe weather. The storm has weakened, but flood and landslide risks remain.
