Ukraine's strikes on Russian refineries risk conflict with Donald Trump
Ahead of the elections, the White House is increasingly assessing the situation through the lens of global fuel prices, Bloomberg reports. According to the publication, the main risks for Kyiv are: Trump's envoys at negotiations hinted that attacks on refineries harm American consumers, which Kyiv viewed as a threat to cease intelligence sharing; a halt in weapons supplies (especially Patriot air defense systems) and information from the US could critically damage Ukraine; experts warn that Trump might go further and directly interfere in Ukraine's internal politics to destabilize the situation. Meanwhile, the Kremlin views Trump's mediation without much hope, believing that sharp criticism of Kyiv is meaningless as long as the US continues real military support.
