US Army ends experiment with dedicated drone unit
The US Army is ending its experiment with a dedicated drone unit, according to The Wall Street Journal. In January, an experimental battalion of about 600 personnel was established in Europe to test the use of attack and reconnaissance drones, as well as ground robots. After the Saber Junction exercises in Germany, the unit will lose its specialized role. "After the exercises, the battalion will refocus on its core combat missions as an airborne infantry battalion," the US Army said.
