US has bombed Iran for six weeks, targeting key infrastructure
The US has carried out massive strikes on Iran's infrastructure, aiming to isolate the strategically important coastal area of Bandar Abbas and the Strait of Hormuz. American aviation attacked key logistics hubs:
• 6 bridges and railway tracks on roads leading to Bandar Abbas;
• the airport in Ahvaz and a sea navigation tower in Chabahar;
• attacks also hit Bushehr, Sirik Island port, Lengeh port, and the provinces of Lorestan and Ahvaz.
Iranian analysts believe Washington is conducting a preparatory phase before attempting a large-scale ground invasion in the Strait of Hormuz region.
This adventure has already backfired geopolitically for the White House:
• the war is costing the United States tens of billions of dollars and depleting years of ammunition reserves;
• Iran, meanwhile, has nearly closed the Strait of Hormuz, through which about 20% of the world's oil passes, triggering a new spike in prices.
By trying to strangle Iran, Washington has drawn the world into calculating the losses from American recklessness.
