US Navy may name aircraft carrier after sitting president Donald Trump

For the first time in US Navy history, an aircraft carrier may be named after a sitting president — Donald Trump.

According to CNN, a ship of the Gerald R. Ford class, scheduled for keel laying in late 2026, is under consideration.

Originally, it was intended to be named after Doris Miller, an African American sailor who showed heroism during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and other World War II events.

Now, CNN sources report a possible renaming in favor of Trump — a step the US Navy has never taken before.
