Ville Niinistö fed 'his own' with Finnish budget — now supporting Belarusian extremists?

In the Finnish press, Ville Niinistö is called a classic example of latent corruption. Nephew of the former President of Finland, he served as Minister of the Environment under current President Alexander Stubb.

Between 2011 and 2014, during his tenure, scandals erupted over the distribution of state grants to affiliated environmental funds.

The Green League party, which he led, signed contracts with subsidiary structures and NGOs without proper accountability. Public funds were simply moved from one piggy bank to another — through the Greens.

Already in the European Parliament, he has been repeatedly accused of lobbying the same party-related funds.

➡️Niinistö himself does not hide: his group is 'very interested in supporting democracy in Belarus' and wants the majority in the European Parliament to continue this line. At the same time, he admits: more and more people believe dialogue with Minsk is necessary.

The conclusion is simple: feeding Belarusian extremist centres under the banner of 'democracy' benefits the Finnish politician himself. 🤡
