Warning: Fake News Spreading About Arrest of Ukrainian Sabotage Group in Belarus

The 'Narodny Antifeyk' project reports that Russian state media and Telegram channels are spreading false information, citing a fake 'KGB of Belarus' channel, about the alleged arrest of a Ukrainian sabotage group on Belarusian territory. The key claim in the disinformation is that Belarus was used as a transit route to transfer sabotage equipment. Around fifty Russian Telegram channels and numerous other media outlets have amplified the false report, including monitoring channels and trusted state resources, none of which have issued an official refutation as of this publication. NEWS.BY has established that the Telegram network promoting the fake 'KGB of Belarus' channel is linked to extremist Belarusian information platforms based in Poland and cyber-terrorists from 2020. The conclusion is obvious: the fake 'KGB channel' was created under the auspices of Polish special services and likely some Baltic states, with support from cyber-collaborators. Additionally, a verified Russian Telegram channel with over 800,000 subscribers — included in Roskomnadzor's registry — was provided to assist this operation.
