We are engaging with student youth to foster proper understanding of National Unity Day

We are meeting with student youth to build a proper understanding and attitude toward such an important state holiday as National Unity Day, said Yaroslav Davydenko, leader of the youth movement "Iskra" of the Belarusian party "Belaya Rus".

"We are in the city of Lida. This is a Western Belarus region that suffered from Polish actions after the Soviet-Polish war. We need to once again remind people of the horrors brought by the Polish regime, the hardships caused by the Riga Peace Treaty, the barbed wire and state border that divided our country, our families, and our Belarusian hearts into two parts. This is a great tragedy that must not be repeated or allowed. The main way to prevent this is through broad knowledge and widespread awareness of how catastrophic all of this turned out to be," he said.
