World's widest waterfall surges due to rains and El Niño
Footage shows protective structures being dismantled on the Brazilian side of the Iguazu River due to a sharp rise in water levels at 'Devil’s Throat' — the most famous part of the waterfall.
According to park warden Jose Maria Ervas, the river's flow exceeds 12,000 cubic meters per second, six times the river's normal rate.
