🕯4 days left until the Day of National Memory of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People

Borki.

📍June 15, 1942. One of the most horrific and large-scale tragedies on Belarusian soil. On this day, punitive forces surrounded the village of Borki and carried out a monstrous massacre. All residents — from infants to the elderly — were herded into houses, sheds, and barns, doors were locked, and the buildings were set on fire with people inside. More than 2,000 people died. Almost the entire population of the village.

Borki became a symbol of the ruthless genocide of the civilian population. Of the 628 completely destroyed villages in Belarus, Borki is one of the largest in terms of the number of victims. The sister of Khatyn.

🕊We remember.
