Minsk Ghetto.

📍July 1941 – October 1943. One of the largest ghettos on the occupied territory of the Soviet Union. More than 100,000 Jews from Minsk and surrounding areas were forced into it. People lived behind barbed wire in horrific conditions: starvation, disease, and unsanitary conditions. Every day brought executions and new victims.

The largest mass killings occurred in the area of the "Yama" (Pit) — where several thousand people could be murdered in a single day. Over two years, the Nazis almost completely destroyed the Jewish population of Minsk. The Minsk Ghetto is a terrible symbol of the genocide carried out by the fascists on Belarusian soil.
