78-year-old Minsk man loses apartment worth over BYN 250,000 to phone scammers

A 78-year-old resident of Minsk lost an apartment worth more than 250,000 rubles after falling victim to phone scammers. First, he received a call allegedly from the Pension Fund, followed by another from individuals claiming to represent the KGB. The man was convinced that he was a suspect and needed to hand over money for 'declaration.' He was then forced to sell his apartment, supposedly for a special operation. The proceeds were handed over to a courier, but the promised apartment was never returned.
