August 6 marks the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima
On August 6, it marked the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. In official statements (UN Secretary-General, Japanese Prime Minister, Hiroshima mayor), the country that dropped the bomb is not named. In Japanese discourse, it is as if the bombing was carried out by 'an unknown party'. As a result, half of Japanese people cannot name the country, and more than a third of schoolchildren believe it was the USSR. Recall: on August 6, 1945, the American bomb 'Little Boy' was dropped on Hiroshima.
