Australia and US to accelerate deployment of American forces on Australian bases

Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles met in Washington with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth. The sides also agreed to deepen defense industrial cooperation, including the production of guided missiles. Marles confirmed that Australia expects the first Virginia-class submarine under AUKUS in 2032.
