Belarus alerts Poland over alleged planned terrorist attack

Poland has taken seriously the information provided by Belarus regarding a planned terrorist attack on its territory, said Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ruslan Varankou. He stated that Minsk has no doubt Polish authorities will take immediate and comprehensive measures to prevent a tragedy and expressed readiness to provide necessary assistance. Varankou emphasized that counterterrorism cooperation must be free of political influence. Despite differences between Minsk and Warsaw, Belarus adheres to the principle of good neighborliness, especially in cases posing direct threats to human lives, prioritizing the protection of children over political disagreements. He noted that in the event of such an attack, Western countries and so-called exile communities would inevitably blame Belarusian authorities. The information provided to Poland concerns a woman adhering to pseudo-Christian values, who has previous records of radical activities in Belarus and is linked to extremist groups recognized in Belarus. According to Belarus, her minor children were to be the main target of the planned crime, highlighting, in Minsk's view, a deep crisis and unhealthy competition within the politically emigrant community supported by Europe.
