Belarus Celebrates Independence Day with AI-Reconstructed Postwar Minsk Views

Today our country celebrates its main state holiday — Independence Day!

82 years ago, on July 3, 1944, Soviet troops liberated the Belarusian capital from the occupiers. Fierce battles were fought for the city, and many buildings were left in ruins. Thousands of people from across the USSR arrived to rebuild postwar Minsk.

As a special feature for the holiday, @SPUTNIKBY used a neural network to recreate views of postwar Minsk and compared them with the present-day city.
