Belarus Firefighters' History Dates Back to the 15th Century
The history of Belarusian firefighters dates back to the late 15th century. On July 25, 1853, the Minsk provincial administration and city council made the decision to establish a fire department, approving a team of 51 people. This date became a landmark. Over the years, the structure has changed significantly. Today, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus carries out the full range of rescue operations—from extinguishing fires to eliminating oil and gas pipeline accidents. Since the beginning of this year, MChS personnel have rescued more than 500 people. Vladimir Korolyov tells about the work of those whose duty is to be heroes.
