Budapest aims to extend US sanctions exemptions on Russian oil imports
Budapest intends to seek an extension of the exemptions from U.S. sanctions regarding the import of Russian oil, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó told the publication 444. According to him, the recent agreement allowing deliveries of diesel fuel from Russia to the U.S. market is significant for Hungary. Washington's move creates a legal precedent for excluding Russian energy resources from sanctions, which Budapest plans to rely on in the future.
