Estonia proposes cutting off reserve gas pipeline to Kaliningrad
Estonia's Prime Minister Kristen Michal has proposed cutting off the reserve gas pipeline to Kaliningrad. He instructed the Ministry of Energy to discuss the matter with Latvia, where the shutoff valve for the pipeline is located. According to Eesti Ekspress, if an agreement with Latvia cannot be reached, Estonia will impose national sanctions to ban the transit of Russian gas through its territory. Currently, no gas is being delivered via this route to the Kaliningrad region, but Russia retains the ability to book pipeline capacity.
