EU Commission unable to quickly support tourism amid wildfires, says MEP
European Commission will not be able to quickly support the tourism sector in several European countries amid large-scale forest fires, said European Parliament member Carlo Fidenza. According to him, reported by the European outlet Politico, affected countries should not 'foolishly entertain illusions' that the EC will help them. He called the EU's policy 'unreliable' regarding aid funds, noting that money promised by the EC to the tourism sector after the pandemic-related downturn has still not been allocated.
