German Students Protest Possible Return of Military Draft

Nationwide student protests against the possible return of compulsory military service took place in Germany. According to organizers, demonstrations were held in over 100 cities and gathered more than 45,000 people.

In Berlin and other cities, slogans such as "Your war — without us", "Why us, not you?", "Not a single person, not a single cent for the Bundeswehr", and "Merkz, lick my balls" were heard.

The protests were triggered by mandatory medical examinations for 18-year-old men and the possibility of reinstating conscription due to a shortage of volunteers.
