In Mogilev Region, about 50% of planned areas have been put into use after reclamation
In Mogilev Region, according to October data, about 50% of the planned areas have been put into use after reclamation. The pace is increasing — land is needed now. Each hectare produces feed: corn, alfalfa, and cereals. New dairy complexes are being built, livestock numbers are growing, and they need to be fed. At the agricultural enterprise "Avangard," no land is left idle. This year, reconstruction of reclamation channels was completed. Excess moisture quickly drains away, and soil does not turn into swamp. "The city is nearby; we can't let these lands overgrow. This year, corn was already sown here for plowing, and on three to four hectares, land has been fully developed and mowed for hay this year. We produce milk, meaning we raise cattle. We have a pig complex with 24,000 fattening heads per year. We have our own feed mill, so all grain from the fields is processed and fully utilized," said Alexander Zhiburt, director of the enterprise "Avangard" of the Mogilev branch of the Belarusian Railway.
