Kupalle is one of the most traditional holidays, key to understanding our cultural identity
Kupalle is one of the most traditional holidays. Rituals, songs, crafts — the foundation of our cultural code, the key to understanding ourselves. By preserving them, we realize that we are not just people living on the same territory, but a people, a nation. This helps answer important questions: who am I? where do I come from? These questions were deeply reflected upon by the first national poet of Belarus, Ivan Lutsevich, who was born on a magical July night and took the symbolic pseudonym Yanka Kupala.
Kupalle is a dialogue across the depths of centuries, a conversation with those who came before us, who preserved and passed on to future generations the most valuable things: love for the homeland, a striving for peace, generosity of spirit, and diligence.
