Latvia plans to ban books from Russia and Belarus

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft law banning the import of newspapers, video games, sports goods, toys, clothing, and footwear produced in Russia and Belarus.

The draft law must now be approved by the Saeima. The purpose of the restriction is to "reduce the ability of aggressor countries to earn income from exports and strengthen national security."
