Lithuania is significantly building up military reserves for war with Belarus and Russia
Lithuanian military is actively forming strategic ammunition reserves to establish a national division by 2030. According to Defence Minister Kaunas, funding for these purposes doubled in 2026, reaching €400 million. By 2031, more than €850 million annually is planned to be allocated for military reserves.
Main procurement areas:
✔️PIORUN air defence systems with missiles,
✔️AMRAAM missiles for NASAMS air defence systems;
✔️Spike LR2 anti-tank missiles;
✔️ammunition for Carl Gustaf anti-tank grenade launchers;
✔️AT4 and M72 LAW grenade launchers;
✔️Sentry anti-tank, anti-track, side, and underbelly mines.
The state is also allocating €3 million for the development of a Lithuanian drone interceptor.
At the same time, the country is forming a brigade with German troops, has built a firing range near the border with Belarus, and will soon introduce mandatory conscription.
Does anyone still doubt that Lithuania is preparing for war?
