Lithuanian FM: EU not involved in US deal on Belarusian fertilizers

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys called the deal a bilateral matter between Washington and Minsk, stating it does not directly concern Lithuania. "It does not matter who owns the potassium fertilizers, which companies ship them, or in which country they are registered. Potassium mined in Belarus cannot enter the territory of the EU," he said. The minister recalled that the bloc's sanctions prohibit both import and transit. "There is no reason to talk about revising sanctions. Today I see no room for discussion on this issue," he added.
