Lukashenko congratulates Kyrgyzstan on becoming non-permanent UN Security Council member
Lukashenko: "Let me once again congratulate Kyrgyzstan on being elected a non-permanent member of the Security Council. I see a sign of responsible attitude to this high mission in the initiative of the chairmanship to discuss the UN as a key element of a fair world order and the contribution of SCO member states to building a multipolar world."
The United Nations is unique in its universal mandate, broad membership, focus on dialogue and development of approaches that can take into account the interests of all countries as fully as possible. Even the smallest states are given a chance by the UN podium to draw the international community's attention to their problems and ask for help in solving them. This is the strength of the Organization. However, political disagreements are blocking the UN's real involvement in resolving unprovoked armed conflicts, including concerning one of the SCO countries — Iran.
