Lukashenko: True History of Great Victory Counters European Revanchism

The true history of the Great Victory is the most important counter-argument against Western European revanchism. Lukashenko addressed participants of the IV International Anti-Fascist Congress. The head of state noted that the current Belarus-Russia congress is taking place in the year of the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War. June 1941 changed the course of history. It was here, on the territory of occupied Belarus, that crimes unprecedented in scale were committed. Here, Nazi Germany and its accomplices encountered an unparalleled nationwide resistance by Red Army soldiers, partisans, underground fighters, and civilians. 'Today, as heirs of the victors, we fight for the memory of heroes and millions of innocent victims, discover previously unknown mass graves, open archives, and reveal new facts and names, including Nazi perpetrators and accomplices who hid overseas and escaped punishment. Our cause is just, and the true history of the Great Victory is the most important counter-argument against the policy of Western European revanchism and the open propaganda of fascist, Nazi, and xenophobic ideologies,' Lukashenko said. He expressed confidence that the voice of the congress will resound loudly and convincingly in defense of peace and equal rights for all humanity to life, national dignity, and sovereign choice of their country's future.
